About Me

My name is Maria. My days are spent in my garden, with my animals, and behind my easel. My paintings are very intuitive in design, focusing on colour, form, and texture.

I love including collage in my artwork, using text of poetry or the presence of abstract figures. Each art piece is formed from layers upon layers. In exploring the movement of paint, the placement of colours, and the use of a variety of shapes, my artworks culminate in intricate, abstract designs.

The artworks depict how I'm feeling at the time, using many different tools and mediums to create an evocative piece. I love the juxtaposition between shape and line, using organic movements and tools to create rhythm.
